 Chitosan comes from chitin by partial deacetylation, which is a natural biopolymer originating from crustacean shells (crab,shrimp,etc.) Chitin is similar to cellulose in morphology; a bountiful natural polysaccharide that contains amino sugars. Chitosan now is regarded as the Sixth life essence for human being besides protein, glucide, adipose, vitamin and mineral.It plays an important role in the physiological activities.

Characteristic:

Off-white, innocuous, flavorless, amorphous and semitransparent solid, soluble in acid, insoluble in water, alkali solution and ordinary organic solvents, decomposed at 185°C.
